Should your LLC be an S-Corp? Business tax and entity strategy
An S-Corp election can lower self-employment tax once your profit is high enough to pay yourself a reasonable salary, but it adds payroll and filing costs, so the numbers have to work first.

FAQ
Common questions
When does an S-Corp make sense?
Usually when your business profit is high enough that paying yourself a reasonable salary still leaves meaningful distributions after the added payroll and filing costs. We run your numbers before recommending it.
Does forming an LLC in Wyoming or Delaware lower my taxes?
Generally no. Taxes follow where you live and do business, not where the LLC is registered, and an out-of-state LLC can add extra filings and fees.
Can I elect S-Corp mid-year?
In some cases. Elections have deadlines, and late-election relief may be available. We review timing based on your situation.
Do you handle business returns in other states?
Yes. We prepare business returns for companies operating in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and other states.
